Link to article in Monticello News:

Thank you to the Monticello News and Ted Dunagan!

I have posted the link to The Monticello News at the right. With the support of the citizens of Jasper County and the continued support of the parents who took time out of their busy schedules to come to the meeting Tuesday I think we finally have a chance to see some improvement in our schools and on our buses.

I am disheartented to hear that someone else has hit the road block that I did. Last year my 8 year old son was displaying some behavior changes. It was not until my 9 year old daughter came to me while I was crying at the dinner table one night. She came to me with the most angelic whisper "mommy, I think I know what is wrong with...."
It was at that time did I fully understand where my son's behavior was coming from.
It was explained to me that everyday, my son, was hit in the stomach, arm, and even his face by an older student on the bus. To make matters worse, the high-school cousin of the assailant sat right across the seats, hence forth making my son feel even more trapped. I contacted the Transportation dept. NO RETURN CALL. I contacted the school principle who was quick to tell me it was the transportation dept. issue, So....
I took a few days to show my son how to effectively deliver a straight punch to the childs nose. Then armed with this, I also hand delivered a letter to he bus driver stating that my son was instructed to attemtp to diffuse the situatation verbally and with nice request, though he would know when it was time to flatten the childs face. So this was to serve as a warning, and put him at just as much or even more in liability for the protection of all the children. My son was moved that day. Now, should that child of kept on, I to was prepared to defend my child to the hilt.
For the paid professionals to say that there is not problem, that is an orange flag on the field. The referree's are refusing to call the plays like they really are supposed to be. I think it is because they are afraid of making a wave, so they choose to put children in jeopardy. We now have the lunatics running the asylums.
Now, we are talking about a student who has never recieved any disciplinary act against him, because mom will put the fear of GOD in him, this child now has silent lunches for the rest of the year, because of another child. I recieved not a single note home, no disciplinary action form. NOTHING. We do not live in a spartan community where our children are their property or possesion. Now, it is because of FEDERAL LAWS that our children have to be herded like cattle to an institution, so there for it is the same FEDERAL LAWS that they are required to keep our children safe. Jasper can really keep wallowing their self in a hole, and it it won't just be a state person in the middle school, we could have state officials disecting this whole mess. so keep on, I know of 7 other families right now affected by bulleying.
